Editor

Editorial Process
I work exclusively in MS Word and use Track Changes for edits. If you aren't familiar with Track Changes, I can send you a quick tutorial.
I'll accept any format that I can convert into MS Word. This includes but is not limited to Google Docs, Pages, Scribe, and PDF.

Upon completion, your manuscript will be returned to you in industry-standard MS Word, double-spaced 12pt Times New Roman.

I follow the Chicago Manual of Style.

1
Contact me for a consultation
Tell me about your manuscript and your expectations from this edit.
2
Send me a sample
I'll ask for a sample of 1,200 words or so. I'll perform the edit and then we'll discuss my work and choose what type of edit is best for you.

3
Set up a contract and timeline
Once you choose an edit type I'll send you a contract.
Read it over, sign it electronically, and the editing begins.
For books up to 80,000 words
-
Manuscript Reviews will take 1 to 2 weeks
-
Copy Edits will take 2 weeks
-
Line Edits will be at least 3 weeks

The Process
Manuscript Reviews and Copy Edits require a 50% deposit to start, with full payment at the finish.
Line Edits are personal and all about style - your writing style and my editing style. I still need 50% up front, and full payment at finish but I offer both of us an escape clause.

To ensure our styles are compatible, once I reach the 25% point of your manuscript I will set up a short consultation. We'll review it together. If either one of us decides not to continue I will refund half of your deposit, we'll wish each other the best and go our separate ways.

If all is good on both sides, I will finish the edit.

Payment
I prefer Paypal as it works internationally, however, alternate payment modes can be discussed.

Payment plans will be considered on an individual basis.
